Gucci begins the fifth Gucci Campaign to Benefit UNICEF that has been supporting education, health care, protection, and clean water programs for orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.As far as I know of, UNICEF has received more than $7 million from Gucci in the past four years.
For this event, Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini has cooperated with the famous author and illustrator Michael Roberts. He has specially designed a collection of Gucci accessories and coin purse featuring the magical book illustrations Roberts. The accessories collection includes two new medium sized Gucci Joy handbags, symbolic charms, and a wrist wallet and coin purse. And they will be available in more than 200 Gucci boutiques and Gucci official site till December 31, 2009. 25% OF the proceeds will go to the UNICEF.
In addition, Robert has created a sequel of Snowman in Paradise, the very well-received children’s book written in 2004. And the new book, Snowman in Africa,will be , like the Gucci Items for UNICEF, exclusively on sale in Gucci stores and on Gucci.com until December 31, 2009. And 100% the proceeds will go to the UNICEF.
